A few negative thoughts that I’ve had already today.

And what I’m doing to make life a little better

Can you just be better?
At your job?
At your marriage?
At life?
Why can’t you just get out of bed and get ready to go to work in a more productive way?

It’s tough to get out of bed in the morning, a lot of the time.

Maybe things would be easier if I worked 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., but that is only the reality of millionaires.

I’ve tried to get a better morning routine together, but it’s been difficult to stick to.

Here’s what I’ve been trying to make the mornings a little easier:

  • snuggle my wife if she hasn’t started getting ready for work yet
  • stretch my wrists and hands (I’m trying to keep carpal tunnel at bay)
  • get out of bed and do some pushups and then stretch (I add more core exercises if I’m feeling up for it)
  • walking to work (winter)
  • biking to work (summer)
  • listen to a lighthearted podcast as I’m walking (currently working my way through The Adventure Zone)
  • write down my top 1 goal for the day, and 2–4 secondary goals, in my productivity planner

Here are some things that I wish I was better at, and am working towards.

  • eating breakfast at home, instead of instant oatmeal at work
  • going to bed earlier to get more time to sleep
  • calming my mind before bed so I don’t have intense nightmares

What do your morning routines look like?

I know that morning routines are highly personal. And that a lot of the tips that might work for one person might not work for others, but I’d love to hear them!
