I’m trying to write this damn review, but I’m being distracted by how awesome this album is.

This is where I would talk about the fact that Hollerado is a Juno nominated band from Ottawa, Canada. Except I just keep wanting to yell “HOLLERADOOOOOOOO” at the top of my lungs. I’ve basically become an insta-fan. I can’t even write a properly objective review now. I just want to crank this barely psychedelic, punkish alt-rock and jam.

Guitars are fast and Beach Boyish, the drums are played like a herd of well coordinated buffalo, the bass dances around with a thick but deft pick, and all four band members sing layers of awesome harmonies behind very memorable lyrics. Here are just a few of the lines that will quickly get stuck in your head, and let you sing along, even on your first listen.

“At the end of time and space, who’ll remember the human race? JUST STOP THINKIN’”

“Oh, we could be friends, but you are a rattlesnake”

“Desire! Is just a chemical!”

“Oh so it goes, can’t tell the wind which way to blow!”

“I try not to forget, pure emotion is not safe”

The songs are tight. The lyrics can sound weird at first but then you realize that at some point in your life you’ve probably thought the same thing. The songs make you smile. I even giggled with a little bit of excitement, which turned into a huge grin. “JUST STOP THINKIN’”.

What else can I say about this band? Give them a Juno for this album. Just do it.

This video is a little weird but imagine me turning into the child in this video while I listen to this album. Because that’s basically what happened.
